Cake Decorator / Pastry Cook

Stafford QLD

$38 per hour | 5 days | Monday to Friday | 7am to 3:30pm

The Plant Bakery is looking for an experienced Cake Decorator or Pastry Cook with confident piping skills to join our wholesale production kitchen in Stafford!

We produce plant based, gluten free cakes, slices and protein balls that are supplied to cafés, hotels, restaurants and specialty retailers across Australia.

This is a practical, hands on role focused on piping small individual cakes neatly, consistently and efficiently across larger production runs.

Hours and pay

  • $38 per hour
  • Five days per week
  • 7am to 3:30pm
  • Monday to Friday only
  • No afternoon, night or weekend shifts

What you’ll be doing

  • Piping consistent cupcake style designs onto individual cakes
  • Coring and filling cakes
  • Adding final decorative touches
  • Layering slabs
  • Mixing and accurately weighing ingredients
  • Packing finished products
  • Completing production set up, cleaning and pack down tasks

About you

You will need:

  • Professional cake decorating or pastry experience
  • Confident and consistent piping skills and working efficiently across larger quantities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A clean and organised approach to your work
  • A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude
  • Ongoing Australian working rights

Your experience may come from a bakery, cake shop, café, hotel, restaurant or food production kitchen. Commercial experience is essential, as this role requires both speed and consistency.

About our kitchen

We start at 7am, with a 15 minute morning break and a half hour lunch break around midday. We finish at 3:30pm and only operate Monday to Friday. You’ll be working in a new, modern production kitchen that’s clean, comfortable and well organised.

The Plant Bakery has been operating for ten years and has grown into a busy wholesale production kitchen. We work efficiently, maintain high standards and treat each other with kindness and respect.
