About the role:
This is a casual position working across Cabramatta, Campbelltown & Gregory Hills locations
Base hourly rate of $39.24 plus 12 % super & 25% casual loading
About the opportunity:
Every child deserves the best possible start in life. Every parent deserves to feel confident, supported and connected.
At Uniting, we know that something as simple as a playgroup can become so much more. It can be the place where a child's developmental needs are identified early, where parents build confidence in their caregiving, where families find connection, and where brighter futures begin.
We're looking for a passionate Supported Playgroup Facilitator to join our Early Intervention team, delivering engaging, inclusive and developmentally rich playgroups across Southwest Sydney.
If you love working alongside young children and families, believe in the power of early intervention and enjoy creating fun, meaningful learning experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Supported Playgroup Facilitator, you'll create welcoming spaces where children aged 0–5 can learn through play while supporting parents to build the skills and confidence that help their children thrive.
You'll work closely with families, observing children's development, encouraging positive parent-child interactions and helping connect families with additional supports when needed.
Every session is an opportunity to strengthen relationships, celebrate milestones and make a genuine difference during the most important years of a child's life.
What you’ll be doing:
- Facilitate engaging supported playgroups across the Southwest Sydney region.
- Create stimulating, age-appropriate play experiences to encourage learning and development.
- Prepare, set up and pack down playgroup environments and resources.
- Plan creative activities including crafts, games, music and sensory play.
- Work alongside your co-facilitator to observe children’s development and contribute to developmental assessments and referrals where appropriate.
- Build trusted relationships with parents, providing encouragement, guidance and practical support.
- Connect families with additional services that can help them achieve their goals.
- Work collaboratively as part of Uniting’s Early Intervention team.
About You:
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Community Services or a related qualification.
- Experience working with children aged 0–5 years and their families.
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood learning as well as child protection.
- Confidence planning and delivering engaging play-based learning experiences.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- A collaborative, energetic and organised approach.
- A current Driver Licence & current NSW WWCC.
- A Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
