We look beyond the immediate challenge to support people in moments that matter across their lives, and continually push for better solutions for our clients. We invest in and empower our people to stand up for what we believe in and go fearlessly forward together.
We work on real cases, achieving important and positive results in real people’s lives, which is why we are one of Australia’s most respected law firms. Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on.
About the role
Our Personal Injuries team is dedicated to protecting the rights and entitlements of our clients. We're now looking for a Lawyer to join our Specialised Onboarding Team (SOT) on an 18-month fixed-term contract, assisting clients from across Queensland.
This is a dynamic and client-focused role that sits at the front end of the client journey. As part of our specialised onboarding team, you'll be responsible for engaging with prospective clients, assessing potential claims, providing initial legal guidance, and ensuring clients receive an exceptional onboarding experience.
You'll play a critical role in helping people at what is often a challenging time in their lives, while working closely with our broader Personal Injuries team to ensure matters are identified, assessed and transitioned efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting initial consultations with prospective clients and assessing potential personal injury claims
- Providing preliminary legal advice and identifying appropriate pathways for clients
- Managing a high volume of enquiries while delivering an outstanding client experience
- Building rapport with clients through empathetic, professional and solutions-focused communication
- Making timely decisions regarding claim viability and next steps
- Liaising with internal teams to facilitate smooth matter establishment and file transition
- Preparing file notes, correspondence and initial legal documentation
- Contributing to process improvements and initiatives that enhance the client onboarding experience
If you're passionate about helping people through challenging circumstances and enjoy combining legal expertise with client engagement, this could be the perfect opportunity.
About You
We're seeking a Lawyer with experience in personal injury law, workers' compensation, insurance law, or a related practice area. You may be an experienced personal injuries lawyer looking for a different style of practice, or a lawyer who enjoys building client relationships and delivering outstanding service.
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a current Australian practising certificate
- Communicates clearly, confidently and compassionately with clients and colleagues
- Enjoys client-facing work and building trust from the very first interaction
- Can confidently assess legal matters and exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced environment
- Thrives managing a high-volume workload while maintaining attention to detail
- Is highly organised and able to balance competing priorities
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
- Enjoys working collaboratively across virtual teams and offices
- Brings a proactive mindset and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client outcomes
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and make a real difference in the lives of our clients from the very first point of contact.

- Ongoing coaching and career development opportunities
- 22 Weeks Parental leave with your superannuation guaranteed and back-to-work transition policy
