Care Connect Support is looking for emotionally intelligent, reliable, and proactive Disability Support Workers to join our growing team.

We provide high-quality, participant-centred supports to people living with Autism, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, neurological conditions, and complex support needs. Many of our participants value genuine connection, consistency, emotional safety, and support workers who can balance independence with structure and guidance.

This is not a “sit on your phone” type of role.

Our participants require support workers who are calm under pressure, capable of building authentic rapport, and able to think independently while maintaining strong professional boundaries.

About the Role

Supports may include:

  • Community access and social support
  • Emotional regulation and psychosocial support
  • Supporting routines, appointments, and daily living
  • Capacity building and independence development

  • Shift note documentation and incident reporting

Shifts may include:

  • Day shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Weekend work
  • Community access shifts
  • In-home supports

We Are Looking For People Who:

  • Remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Are emotionally mature and self-aware
  • Have strong boundaries and good judgement
  • Can work independently without needing constant direction
  • Are reliable and punctual
  • Communicate respectfully and clearly
  • Understand trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming support
  • Can build trust while maintaining professionalism
  • Are proactive, adaptable, and participant-focused

This Role Is NOT Suitable For People Who:

  • Struggle with punctuality or reliability
  • Become emotionally reactive under stress
  • Require constant supervision or prompting
  • Have poor professional boundaries
  • Want passive “easy” support work
  • Are uncomfortable working with complex behaviours, emotional dysregulation, or mental health challenges

Essential Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Smartphone with ability to complete online documentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current medication and manual handling training highly regarded

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting participants with Autism and psychosocial disability
  • Mental health or trauma-informed support experience
  • Confidence managing emotional dysregulation calmly
  • Experience with capacity-building supports
  • Understanding of professional boundaries within disability support

Why Join Care Connect Support?

At Care Connect Support, we value quality over quantity. We believe the right support worker can genuinely change someone’s quality of life.

We are building a team of workers who:

  • genuinely care about people
  • respect participant choice and dignity
  • work with integrity
  • understand the importance of consistency and trust

If you are compassionate, grounded, emotionally intelligent, and looking for meaningful work where your presence genuinely matters — we would love to hear from you.

Apply now with your resume and a short introduction about why you believe you’d be a strong fit for this role.
