Full job description

We have a new opportunity for a Terminal Operator at our Townsville Terminal. You will be part of a small team that manages the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of our bulk cement products. You’ll operate plant equipment, perform site maintenance activities and other site functions as directed by the Terminal Team Leader. You will work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders as well as autonomously to meet the requirements of the terminal operations.

The role offers a 4-day on, 4-day off roster with shifts from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

About the role:

As a Terminal Operator at our Townsville site you will:

  • Operate plant equipment to obtain maximum throughput and achieve quality targets
  • Allocate and supervise contract maintenance providers
  • Perform preventive maintenance routines and minor maintenance activities
  • Ship monitoring activities
  • Undertake daily stock control of receivable cement products and dispatch products and materials to meet leading deadlines
  • Perform basic root cause analysis of equipment failure
  • Basic housekeeping duties

About you:

  • Experience in terminal operations
  • Experience in bulk loading and unloading (desirable)
  • Front end loader ticket
  • Manual car licence
  • Mechanically minded
  • Forklift Licence
  • First aid certificate (desirable)
  • Basic computer skills, ideally SAP, Microsoft Excel, TIS
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
