Full job description

Evergreen Tutoring Services are hiring casual employees to join their team.

What do we do for our tutors?

  • Organise and pay their tax weekly (each pay run).
  • 12% super paid in addition to your wage to a super fund of your choice.
  • Flexible shifts on days and times that suit you. Our tutoring hours are between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm (AEST) Monday to Friday. There can be weekend lessons based on need and availability.
  • Get paid even if your student doesn't come to the lesson if they cancel with less than 2 hours' notice.
  • We provide resources to support you in your lessons.
  • We find you the students and set them up according to your subject preference and availability. You are notified of your shifts each week through a roster.
  • Notify us of any changes to your availability, and we will contact all your students and rearrange your lessons for you.
  • We chase down the payments and organise insurance and pay for the cost of lesson platforms.
  • Lessons take place onlinethrough video chat and interactive platforms such as documents and whiteboards.

What do we need our tutors to do for us?

  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Be able to deliver content for subjects you tutor to a high level.
  • Be easy to approach and speak with.
  • Have or be working on a Bachelor's degree at an Australian University. (higher education is great!)
  • Be living in Australia.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a working with children's check or blue card.
  • Have a reliable computer with internet and a webcam to use for their lessons.
  • Have an aptitude and patience for teaching.

We are looking for tutors to teach high school students, including Years 11 and 12 in Math and the Sciences.

Tutors who can teach a wide range of subjects often get more work than tutors who only teach one subject as students tend to want overlap.

We are primarily looking for tutors who can teach years 11 and 12

We will not consider applicants who do not answer all the questions on this application.

Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate their teaching abilities in an interview.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $32.31 – $45.24 per hour
