We have multiple opportunities available for Grain Analysts to join our team this harvest season at our state-of-the-art laboratory in Thebarton.

These roles are ideal for candidates who have studied or have an interest in agriculture or science, and are looking to gain hands-on experience in grain analysis and laboratory operations.

In this role, you will be involved in the testing and assessment of grain commodities, along with data entry and reporting. It’s a great opportunity to build practical skills in grain classification and laboratory processes.

Our laboratory plays a critical role in maintaining food and feed safety standards, ensuring accurate grain classification and supporting ongoing market access for local growers.

Most roles are available from October through to January, making them well suited to students seeking summer work aligned to their studies.

What we offer

As well as the opportunity to develop your skills, a harvest role with us offers:

  • Comprehensive, role-based training
  • A supportive and supervised team environment
  • Pay in line with the applicable Award rates
  • Experience working in a professional laboratory environment
  • The opportunity to work with a leading global agribusiness
  • Potential for ongoing or return employment after harvest

You may also have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute towards eligibility for a second-year Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Monitoring and testing grain samples for quality
  • Preparing grain samples for internal and external testing
  • Assisting with grain classification activities as required

An intermediate competency in Microsoft Office products is required, as well as the ability to learn in-house systems efficiently and effectively.

About us

Bunge connects farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed and fuel to the world.

Through our dynamic supply chain, we can move commodities efficiently from where there is surplus to where they are needed. In Australia, we operate around 60 storage and handling sites and seven port terminals across southern Western Australia, South Australia and western Victoria, two import sites in Victoria and New South Wales, and are one of the largest buyers and exporters of agricultural commodities including cereals, oilseeds, pulses and cotton.

By joining Bunge, you will enjoy a varied and interesting career and make a difference to local farmers and the communities we operate in.

In mid-2025, Bunge and Viterra combined, creating the premier agribusiness solutions company.

Application timeline

Most harvest roles commence from October, so if you are successful, you may not be contacted to start until closer to this time, depending on site requirements and seasonal conditions.
