Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Managing Director to join their offshore marine services business.

The Commercial Managing Director is responsible for defining and executing the regional strategy, aligning with the group’s global goals and KPIs. This role integrates full accountability for both regional business management and commercial performance.

The Commercial MD manages the region in its entirety—driving sales and growth, overseeing operations, negotiating contracts, managing key clients, and ensuring delivery of favorable commercial outcomes. The role carries full responsibility for the P&L, balance sheet, and achievement of revenue and profitability targets.

Key responsibilities and key result area’s

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Define and execute the strategic plan for the region in consultation with global leadership.
  • Set company-wide and regional KPIs, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice and maintain a dialogue with the Board of Directors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Lead sales to secure key targets and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop market potential and set sales budgets for the region in coordination with management.
  • Oversee all commercial proposals, negotiations, and contracts.
  • Maintain and develop strategic key accounts and global commercial agency networks.
  • Ensure effective handover of contracts to Operations and ongoing communication with clients.
  • Actively engage in business development, forecasting, lead generation, and client acquisition.
  • Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions, strengthening brand presence.
  • Carry out regular SWOT analysis to mitigate risks from market and industry changes.
  • Hold full P&L and balance sheet responsibility for the region.
  • Define opportunities to increase efficiencies, implementing improved processes and procedures.
  • Attend operational and financial close-out meetings and ensure knowledge sharing within teams.
  • Ensure correct usage of CRM, sales applications, and business administrative tools.
  • Provide timely and sufficient reporting to management on performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Perform company and project presentations to customers and stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant, industry-related work experience managing sales, operations, and/or commercial teams for an offshore marine services company.
  • Proven track record in high-level sales, account management, contract negotiation, and/or project management in the offshore maritime sector.
  • Familiarity with corporate law, contracts, and best management practices.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Meet all requirements as stated in the company competence and training matrix.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $225,000.00 per year
