About the Team
Hunter New England Population Health (HNEPH) delivers population health services across the Hunter and New England regions through two specialist service areas: Health Protection and Health Promotion.

About the Role
As a Project Officer, you'll contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based health promotion initiatives that help prevent chronic disease and reduce health risks across the community.
Working within the Early Years Team, your focus will be on improving health outcomes for children aged 0–5 years, collaborating with a range of partners to deliver programs that make a lasting impact.

About You
We're looking for a motivated and collaborative professional who brings:
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

What you'll be doing
Participate in the development and delivery of evidence-based health promotion services that address the prevention of non-communicable and communicable disease risks in the Hunter New England population, from pregnancy through to adulthood. The position will work with clinical services and networks (e.g. Women’s Health and Maternity network) and other organisations (e.g. GPs) to improve various health outcomes (e.g. infant birth weight, obesity) by increasing the delivery of preventive health care including referral to specialist services (e.g. Get Healthy Service).
A key role of the position will be to contribute to increasing the appropriateness and effectiveness of health promotion services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
