About the role

We are looking for a highly capable IT Operations Specialist who thrives in a hands-on, technically dynamic environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong networking background who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and supporting critical operational systems.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the mining industry, or those who have supported IT environments in heavy industry or remote operational sites. Familiarity with the unique connectivity, infrastructure, and operational technology requirements in mining environments will be highly valued.

Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)

Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW

Travel Options: Residential, DIDO, FIFO

  • Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support and discounted company housing are available, along with a residential allowance
  • DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance
  • FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure personal and team health and safety through safe work practices and training
  • Deliver Level 1 and 2 IT support across hardware, software and site systems
  • Support and maintain site networks including LAN/WAN, wireless, fibre and underground communications
  • Manage and escalate incidents based on business impact, including after-hours P1 support
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors to resolve incidents, requests and system changes
  • Maintain user access, Active Directory and support governance, audits and continuous improvement

Qualifications and ex perience

  • Experience installing, configuring and maintaining IT systems and networks
  • Background in industrial environments such as mining, utilities or manufacturing
  • Ability to perform first-response fault isolation across networks and communications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of business systems and application support
  • Customer-focused with a results-driven approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, SOE management and identity & access (Entra ID/Active Directory)
  • Familiar with Pronto (ERP) and INX systems
