Full job description

We are looking for a warm, friendly, and confident Psychologist / Registrar (Clinical, Neuropsych, or Ed Dev) to join our team supporting children, adolescents, and their families.

Opportunities exist for full time or permanent part time employment; however, applications from clinicians seeking casual or contract work will also be considered.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The Centre attracts a broad range of common childhood presentations. Your caseload will include assessment of learning and developmental issues, and providing therapy for issues such as anxiety, anger management, emotional regulation difficulties, sleep problems, and behaviour issues .

A special area of interest of the Centre is providing support for individuals with learning difficulties (eg, dyslexia, specific learning difficulties, ADHD, ASD, developmental delay etc). Therefore, experience in conducting diagnostic psychometric assessments is essential; however, full supervision and training will be provided for Psychologists seeking to develop their assessment skills.

Skills and experience

Experienced fully registered Psychologists who have a background in working with children and adolescents and those enrolled in or having completed a Psychology Registrar programme (Clinical, Educational & Developmental, Neuropsychology) are welcome to apply.

Supervision is available for new grads seeking clinical endorsement through the Registrar programme.

Criteria

Completion of a Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, Educational & Developmental Psychology, or Neuropsychology or experience in working with children, adolescents and their families will be highly regarded

and / or

Fully registered Psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, and their families

Registration with AHPRA (with area endorsement or working towards)

Eligibility for Medicare rebates

Ability to conduct standardised cognitive, educational, and diagnostic assessments (eg, dyslexia, ADHD, ASD etc)

CBT skills and experience with other therapy modalities

Current Working With Children Check

Either full time employment or the ability to work 2-3 days per week.

Experience working with complex presentations

Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
