SA Health invites trainee medical officers in their Postgraduate Year 2 and beyond (PGY2+) to express an interest in Entry Vocational Training, Pre-Specialist or Prevocational Trainee Medical Officer programs commencing in February 2027 across the South Australian Metro and Rural Local Health Networks.
In this single Expression of Interest, candidates can preference up to four training programs. These include:
- Entry into Vocational Training or Pre-specialist Training programs that focus on specific specialty areas. These training positions will provide you with experience in specific clinical specialties and are suitable if you know the specialty career path you wish to follow. In some cases you will need to be accepted by the relevant specialty college. Information regarding college appointment processes and deadlines can be obtained from the individual colleges.
- Prevocational (General) Training programs provide further hospital experience. These training positions will provide you with general rotations through medical, surgical, emergency and other units and are suitable if you have not yet decided on a specialist training program or wish to obtain more experience.
SA Health is committed to protecting and improving the health of all South Australians by providing leadership in health reform, public health services, health and medical research, policy development and planning, and with an increased focus on wellbeing, illness prevention, early intervention and quality care.
