Full job description

An established, SME and startup-focused accounting firm is seeking an experienced tax professional to support our review function through the upcoming busy season. This is a part-time, fully remote, fixed-term engagement running from July to end of October — ideal for someone who wants meaningful technical work over the peak period with the flexibility to fit it around their own schedule.

You'll be reviewing returns prepared by our team, ensuring technical accuracy and providing clear feedback to preparers/partners.

What you'll be doing

  • Reviewing individual and SME tax returns — primarily companies, trusts and sole traders
  • Checking technical treatment across Div 7A, trust distributions and small business CGT
  • Providing clear, constructive review notes back to preparers
  • Working within our Xero / XPM environment
  • Supporting with associated tax return discussions with clients if required

What you'll bring

  • Manager-level (or equivalent) tax experience in an Australian practice
  • Strong, current SME tax technical knowledge
  • Senior-level experience in public practice accounting firm
  • Xero and XPM proficiency (essential)
  • A reliable, self-directed approach suited to remote work
