The role
Crown Sydney has an exceptional opportunity to join us as General Manager - Government Relations & Public Affairs. Based in our Barangaroo property, you’ll be a trusted partner to the business and executive teams, leading Sydney’s external engagements with state and local government, industry partners, regulator bodies as well as a variety of other stakeholders on matters relating to public policy, industry development and key projects.
Reporting to the Chief Government Relations & Public Affairs Officer, this role is crucial to developing and implementing strategies that promote positive outcomes and growth for Crown Sydney, our team members, guests, suppliers and broader industry partners. You’ll represent Crown Resorts at various public and private events, playing a significant role in enhancing the reputation of Crown Sydney, inspiring trust within and across the community.
You'll be:

Developing and executing government relations and industry affairs strategies to promote and support growth
-
Building meaningful partnerships with government and parliamentary representatives to understand public policy matters affecting Crown's operations, whilst promoting positive outcomes

Creating and maintaining strong and constructive relationships with key industry bodies that support development of the Barangaroo precinct, promote tourism, trade and visitation to Sydney and NSW
-
Providing considered advice to the Chief Government & Industry Affairs Officer and CEO of Crown Sydney on matters affecting Crown Sydney’s standing with government and industry

Representing Crown Sydney at key government and industry events

Partnering with Communications, ESG, Community, Events, Regulatory Affairs and operational teams to ensure alignment with Crown values and to achieve positive whole business outcomes
You’ll bring:
-
Extensive understanding and relevant experience across political and policy landscape, structures & processes in NSW
-
Well-developed networks across government and industry (tourism, hospitality, gaming, entertainment or complex regulated industries is preferable)
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively advocate and collaborate with senior officials, members of Parliament and industry partners
-
Ability to critically review and assess policy, legislation, regulations etc. and assess impact to key stakeholders

Ability to obtain and maintain Casino Special Employee License in New South Wales
-
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, e.g. business, law, public policy, government administration or a similar field is advantageous
