About us
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focussing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. As an area within the department, Youth Justice is always committed to the demonstration of the departmental values; serve the community, work together, act with integrity, respect other people and make it happen.
Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
What you will do
  • As Reception Services Officer, you will provide welcoming reception and administrative support at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct.
  • You will help deliver reliable day-to-day services that support staff, visitors and the safe operation of the precinct.
  • You will:
  • provide professional reception services and manage incoming calls during business hours
  • coordinate the precinct fleet, meeting rooms, mail services and office supplies
  • complete accurate administration tasks, maintain records and support business systems
  • build positive working relationships with staff, visitors and service providers while following security procedures
  • support a safe, well-organised workplace by assisting the business services team with daily operations.
About you
You will need a current driver's licence and a current Employee Working with Children Check before you start. Experience in reception and administration, preferably in government, will help you succeed.
You should also have:
  • strong reception and administration skills with good attention to detail
  • confident digital skills using Microsoft 365 and other workplace systems
  • clear communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
  • sound problem-solving skills with a commitment to inclusive teamwork.
