Recovery Support Worker jobs

Your new role:
As our Senior Peer Recovery Support Worker, you'll draw on your personal lived experience of recovery to provide hope, guidance and practical support to consumers, while helping shape recovery-oriented services within a collaborative multidisciplinary team by:

Partnering with consumers to develop meaningful recovery goals and build resilience.
Mentoring and supporting Peer Workers within the Community Care Unit.
Co-designing and co-delivering education, training and recovery-focused programs.
Promoting recovery-oriented practice across the service through collaboration and advocacy.
Working alongside clinical teams, community organisations and families to support positive consumer outcomes.
Contributing to service improvement, education and quality initiatives.

About you:
You're passionate about supporting others through recovery and understand the power of lived experience in creating hope and positive change. You'll bring:

Personal lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use issues and recovery (a genuine occupational requirement).
The ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with consumers, families and colleagues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
Experience or confidence in mentoring, coaching or supporting peer workers.
An understanding of recovery-oriented practice and the values of peer work.
Experience within mental health, community services or the non-government sector will be highly regarded.
Relevant qualifications (or a willingness to work towards them), such as a Certificate IV in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work or Community Services, will be advantageous.

About the Community Care Unit

The Bayside Community Care Unit is a residential rehabilitation service for consumers aged 18 - 65yo who are in recovery from mental illness and who require additional assistance to successfully reintegrate to community living. The Bayside CCU offers fully self-contained units and 24/7 rehabilitation support, including individual and group therapeutic and recovery focussed biopsychosocial interventions.

Once an individual makes the choice to enter the Bayside CCU, a partnership is formed between our service, the individual, their family and other key stakeholders. Together, rehabilitation goals are identified, a plan is developed to support achievement of those goals and regular reviews are conducted to assist the recovery pathway.
