Full job description

Community Home Australia is an internationally recognised provider of specialist younger onset dementia and neurocognitive disability support.

Club Kalina is our award winning community day program centre which offers a varied and individualised program of activities for people living with younger onset dementia and cognitive disability who receive funding from the NDIS as well as private fee paying guests from nursing homes and the community.

We are expanding our team due to.continued growth.

All applicants with experience in providing recreational.activities or who hold formal qualifications in leisure and lifestyle and have a strong desire to work with people living with dementia and cognitive impairment are encouraged to apply.

People with relevant experience and ongoing education in dementia and person centred care are strongly encouraged to apply.

Completion of ongoing specialist training in dementia care is a mandatory component of this position and you will be enabled to complete ongoing professional development as part of your employment. We also have strong links with the University of Canberra and Western Sydney University so opportunities to engage in research projects are often available.

The role is a combination of coordination, activity planning and program tasks and should be considered a hands on role. Work across the organisation, including in our supported living homes is available.

The successful applicants will work with their team to achieve the desired outcomes of our guests and the organisation and we require all staff to display considerable flexibility and a willingness to engage with our guests to enable them to live their lives as they wish.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour

  • Certificate I - IV (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Dementia care: 1 year (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:
