About the role:

We are seeking experienced Fruit Farm Workers to carrying out a range of duties associated with the establishment, care and maintenance of fruit crops. The role supports daily farm operations including planting, irrigation, pruning, fertilising, crop maintenance and general farm duties to assist with healthy crop growth and production.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare soil and growing areas for planting and crop production.
• Plant and establish fruit trees, seedlings and other plant material.
• Apply fertilisers and other treatments to support crop growth and soil health.
• Operate, monitor and assist with the maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Prune and thin fruit trees and plants to encourage healthy growth and fruit production.
• Undertake weed control and general crop maintenance activities.
• Monitor crops for signs of pests, disease, damage or poor growth and report concerns to the Farm Supervisor.
• Assist with pest and disease control, including the application of approved agricultural chemicals where trained and authorised.
• Operate farm tools, machinery and equipment safely where required and appropriately trained.
• Assist with harvesting, sorting, handling and movement of fruit when required.
• Maintain farm equipment, irrigation systems, work areas and general farm infrastructure.
• Follow workplace health and safety, biosecurity and chemical handling procedures.
• Carry out other reasonable fruit farm duties as directed by the Farm Manager or Supervisor.

Key Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience in farming, horticulture or a similar environment is desirable.
• Practical understanding of crop care, irrigation, pruning and general farm activities.
• Ability to safely use farm tools and equipment.
• Physically capable of undertaking manual work, including lifting, bending and working outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to undertake relevant on-the-job training.
• Relevant licences or certifications where required for machinery operation or chemical application.

Salary: Dependent on experience

Pay: $71,481.00 – $90,000.00 per year
