CutlerMerz is looking for an experienced consultant specialising in renewable energy to join our major projects team.

Role Purpose

Cutler Merz major projects team supports the development of largescale renewable energy infrastructure across technical, commercial, risk, financial and regulatory domains. We help our clients work through complex due diligence exercises, to identify risk and optimize value including grid connection and curtailment risk, market and revenue risks, capex and opex expenditure planning and regulatory risk.

The consultant role is to apply structured engineering knowledge and an understanding of energy systems to provide project management, analysis, modelling, proposal and report development as well as conduct client facing and business development activities.

Consultant Role Responsibilities

In the consultant role, you will:

• Take responsibility for contributing high-quality inputs to the delivery of projects including analysis, modelling, research reports and project management artifacts to meet client requirements.
• Apply an understanding of engineering, economic, financial and econometric principles to devise and deliver approaches to solve complex problems.
• Work with the broader team in relation to:
• Interpreting, scoping, designing and gaining acceptance of technical solutions.
• ongoing project planning, workload planning, and monitoring of delivery and project metrics to ensure delivery on time, on budget and to a high quality.
• providing technical input and review of deliverables as required.
• producing reports, proposals and other deliverables to meet client requirements for projects of high complexity.
• communicating with clients in a pro-active and professional manner.
• Play a role in business development including contributing to proposals, marketing materials, thought leadership and presenting to current and future clients.
• Participate in internal CutlerMerz projects to improve our processes, knowledge, and effectiveness.
• Play a pro-active role in your own development, seeking feedback and relevant development opportunities.
• Record your time and work in accordance with CutlerMerz time recording procedures.
• Comply with all CutlerMerz policies and procedures and achieve Health and Safety standards.
• At all times conduct yourself professionally and in the best interests of CutlerMerz.

Skills and Experience

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering and post-graduate qualifications in an area directly relevant to Energy.
• A minimum of four years’ experience in the energy sector ideally working in a consulting environment, Network Service Provider or Renewable Energy Developer.
• Knowledge of the Australian energy markets, and ideally with an appreciation of other international energy markets including Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and the South Pacific.
• Proven experience in project and program delivery in the power and energy industry.
• Experience in leadership and management of professionals and providing a mentoring role to ensure personal development
• Significant success and experience in building, influencing, and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work across functional business teams
• Highly numerical with excellent analysis, modelling, report writing and communication skills. Experience with energy market analysis highly desirable.
• Proven ability to analyse problems/risks, recommend and implement prudent solutions.
• A high level of interpersonal, verbal, and written skills to effectively communicate with internal and external parties at all levels.

Pay: $125,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year
