Full job description

Parramatta Park View Medical Centre is seeking a friendly, organised and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy medical practice, communicates confidently with patients and can manage reception duties efficiently while maintaining privacy and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and managing front-desk enquiries
  • Answering telephone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Managing patient registrations and updating patient information
  • Processing Medicare, private and third-party billings
  • Handling payments, receipts and daily banking
  • Scanning, filing and managing incoming correspondence
  • Coordinating recalls, reminders and follow-up appointments
  • Supporting doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records
  • Assisting with general administrative duties

About you

  • Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience is preferred
  • Experience using Best Practice software is highly regarded
  • Good understanding of Medicare billing and general practice procedures
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • Strong computer, organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Professional, reliable and calm under pressure
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Appropriate Australian working rights

Availability for occasional Saturday shifts would be an advantage.
