Market Research Analyst

Hybrid Work | Part-time | Australia

AUD $40–$46 per hour

Final hourly rate will be determined based on relevant skills, research ability, availability, agreed working hours, job responsibilities and final employment terms.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Market Research Analyst to support market research, data collection, competitor tracking and business insight reporting.

This role focuses on collecting and organising market information, reviewing industry trends, preparing research summaries, maintaining research files and assisting the team with internal reports.

This is a hybrid, part-time position. Most work can be completed remotely through online systems, spreadsheets, shared files and approved communication tools. The successful candidate will also be required to attend the company office for approximately 3 days per month for team meetings, research reviews, work reporting, task handover and internal coordination.

Actual onsite dates will be arranged based on business needs, team schedule and the agreed part-time working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research Support

- Collect and organise market information from approved sources

- Research industry trends, customer segments, competitors and business opportunities

- Maintain research notes, data files and reference materials in a clear format

- Summarise key findings for internal review

- Report unclear, outdated or incomplete information to the relevant team member

Competitor and Industry Tracking

- Assist with tracking competitor activities, service offerings, pricing information and market positioning

- Update competitor comparison tables, market trackers and research documents

- Monitor relevant industry updates and organise information for internal use

- Highlight important changes or patterns for team review

Data Organisation and Analysis

- Enter, clean and organise research data in spreadsheets or internal systems

- Check information for accuracy, consistency and completeness

- Assist with basic data comparison, categorisation and summary preparation

- Support the team in turning collected information into clear, usable insights

- Present information in a clear, structured and professional format

- Maintain records of completed research, pending items and follow-up tasks

Requirements

- Interest in market research, business analysis, competitor research and data organisation

- Good attention to detail and ability to follow research instructions accurately

- Able to organise information clearly and prepare simple written summaries

- Responsible, organised and able to complete assigned tasks within agreed deadlines

- Able to work independently on remote workdays while maintaining regular communication with the team

- Must have reliable internet access and a suitable remote working environment

- Must have the legal right to work in Australia

- Previous experience in market research, data analysis, administration, business support or reporting will be an advantage, but is not compulsory
