About the Role

Looking for a role where no two days are the same and your support can genuinely change a young person's future?

We're seeking compassionate and resilient Residential Support Workers to join our Youth Justice team in Armadale. Working in a residential bail service, you'll help create a safe, supportive and home-like environment for young people while encouraging positive choices, building life skills and supporting them to achieve their goals.

Whether you're helping a young person get to an appointment, cooking a meal together, supporting recreational activities or simply being a consistent and positive role model, you'll play an important part in their journey.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting young people to meet their goals, bail conditions and daily routines
  • Creating a safe, respectful and welcoming home environment
  • Building positive relationships through non-judgemental and compassionate support
  • Facilitating recreational, educational and life skills activities
  • Transporting young people to appointments, programs and approved family visits
  • Responding confidently to challenging situations and behaviours
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, reports and handovers
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and community services to achieve positive outcomes

You'll Need

We're looking for people who are compassionate, reliable and committed to supporting young people to reach their potential

  • Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work, AOD or a related field, or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with young people, either one-on-one or in group settings
  • Ability to engage respectfully with young people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal young people
  • Confidence managing challenging situations and behaviours
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use digital systems
  • A willingness to work a rotating roster including afternoons, evenings, weekends and awake overnight shifts
Pre-employment Requirements
  • Current Driver's Licence (C or A Class)
  • National Police Clearance (within 3 months)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Department of Justice Clearance
