Full job description

Sydney CBD | Permanent Part-Time | Sun to Wed, 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm | Thu to Sat off

We're Feedwell, one of Sydney's fastest-growing fresh food catering businesses. We deliver thousands of meals daily to workplaces like Google, Amazon, Canva and Louis Vuitton, and it's our production crew that makes it happen.

We're hiring permanent part-time Catering Assistants for our afternoon shift. You'll prepare, assemble and pack fresh food in our central kitchen, working at your own bench to clear step-by-step procedures we train you on. Hands-on, practical work: making sure every salad, wrap, sandwich and grazing board looks great, tastes fresh and goes out on time.

Here's what makes this shift different: a three-day weekend, every single week. You work Sunday to Wednesday, then Thursday, Friday and Saturday are yours. And because Sunday is a workday, one of your four days is paid at Sunday rates.

This is a permanent job with fixed days and fixed hours, around 32 hours a week. Not casual. You'll know exactly when you're working, what your role is and what's expected. No last-minute roster changes.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and assemble salads, wraps, sandwiches, grazing and fruit platters and bakery items to our recipes and standards, including clean, simple knife work. We'll show you exactly how
  • Follow our step-by-step procedures and stick with them once trained
  • Work at your station with pace and consistency to hit production times
  • Keep your bench clean, organised and food-safe
  • Rotate across stations once trained. With the range of products we make, you'll keep learning new recipes and building skills right through the shift

Who thrives here

  • People who like routine, pace and clear standards
  • Quick, tidy hands. You'll assemble multi-step products all shift, and clean, accurate work at pace is the job
  • People who can follow a step-by-step process in order and keep their bench organised while they do it
  • We make a big range of products, so you'll be learning new recipes constantly. You need to enjoy that, and hold what you learn
  • People who check their own work. A wrong label or a missed allergen matters here
  • Reliable, punctual team players who turn up when they say they will, every time
  • You must have at least 18 months of experience in food handling: as a catering assistant, kitchen hand, QSR crew or back of house in a cafe, restaurant or production kitchen

What you'll get

  • Permanent part-time with fixed days and hours, and a three-day weekend every week
  • Sunday rates on one of your four days
  • Paid leave, sick leave and the security casual work doesn't give you
  • A meal on every shift
  • A Feedwell grocery box to take home each fortnight
  • Your birthday off, paid
  • A calm, respectful kitchen. No yelling, no egos
  • Clear systems: step-by-step processes, sign-offs and weekly feedback, so you always know what good looks like
  • Growth if you want it, through the Feedwell Academy, from Crew to Senior Crew. If you'd rather master one station and stay steady, that's just as valued

Hear from our team

"When I joined, I was just looking for something steady after hospitality. Over time they gave me chances to learn new stations and trusted me to do more. What stood out from day one was that it's calm and organised, not chaotic like other kitchens I'd worked in."

  • Anne, now Operations Manager (Anne started in a crew role in 2017)

How to apply

Once you apply, we'll send you a short online questionnaire by email and text. It only takes a few minutes, but it's essential to be considered.

We reply to every applicant, usually within 48 hours (sometimes longer if there are a lot of applications).
