Job Description


We’re looking for a passionate and driven Commis chef who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in delivering exceptional food every time. If you love teamwork, creativity, and maintaining high culinary standards, this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Running your section with confidence, efficiency, and consistency

  • Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to recipe and brand standards

  • Supporting smooth service with strong organisation and a sense of urgency

  • Monitoring stock, minimising waste, and maintaining cost awareness

  • Mentoring and supporting apprentices and junior chefs

  • Working collaboratively across kitchen sections to deliver outstanding guest experiences

  • Maintaining impeccable food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards

What we’re looking for:

A team player with a genuine passion for food, attention to detail, and the drive to help create memorable dining experiences for every guest.


Qualifications

  • Trade qualified and a minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen environment is a plus
  • Experience within a restaurant or hotel environment is an advantage
  • Be able to demonstrate creativity and flair in menu and design
  • As with the hospitality industry you will be available to work various rostered shifts
  • Understanding of safety and manual handling requirements
  • Remain calm and effective in high volume work situations
  • Be a good team player; contribute to and assist co-workers without being asked
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings or evenings, weekends and public holidays
