Full job description

EAB CORPORATION PTY LTD trading as Breeze Cafe & Bar is seeking an experienced and dedicated Full-Time Chef and Cook to join the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, season and cook a variety of café meals and dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu standards.
  • Monitor the quality of ingredients and dishes throughout preparation, cooking and presentation.
  • Assist with menu preparation and contribute ideas for seasonal menus and daily specials.
  • Portion, plate and present dishes consistently to maintain Breeze Cafe & Bar's food quality and presentation standards.
  • Plan and develop menus, estimate food requirements, and contribute to the development of new dishes, seasonal menus and daily specials.
  • Monitor stock levels, food requirements and kitchen wastage, and assist with ordering food supplies.
  • Operate ovens, grills and other commercial cooking equipment and monitor cooking times and temperatures.
  • Store and handle food appropriately, including maintaining required temperature controls.
  • Prepare meals to accommodate customer dietary requirements where required.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient preparation and service of meals.

About you

  • Relevant industry qualification required.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Available to work weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively in a busy café and bar environment.
  • Positive and professional with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about preparing and presenting consistently high-quality food.
  • Able to maintain quality and efficiency during busy service periods.
