Located in Springsure, Queensland, Dooley’s features a modern bar, successful bistro, bottle shop, gaming facilities and 68 deluxe motel rooms. Springsure is a welcoming country town that is ideal for anyone who enjoys the Australian outback and the great outdoors.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the tavern, with a strong focus on bar and customer service
  • Providing friendly, professional service and building positive relationships with customers
  • Managing liquor and retail stock, including ordering, receiving, rotation, transfers and stocktakes
  • Monitoring stock variances, wastage, pricing and cost controls
  • Maintaining accurate invoices, paperwork and inventory records
  • Managing tills, cash handling, banking and end-of-shift reconciliations
  • Supervising and supporting bar, bistro, bottle shop and gaming staff
  • Training and coaching team members to maintain high service standards
  • Managing customer enquiries and resolving concerns professionally
  • Ensuring compliance with liquor, gaming, workplace safety and responsible service requirements
  • Supporting bistro, bottle shop, gaming and motel reception operations as required
  • Pitching in during busy periods to help the team and keep the venue running smoothly

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least two years’ full-time experience in a hotel, pub, club or similar hospitality management role
  • Strong senior bar experience and a genuine passion for pub operations
  • Excellent stock-control skills and pride in maintaining accurate inventory
  • A strong customer-service mindset and the confidence to handle customer concerns
  • Experience supervising, motivating and coaching hospitality teams
  • Experience with cash handling, till reconciliation and invoice processing
  • Bistro and bottle shop operational experience
  • Gaming experience or the ability to quickly learn our gaming operations
  • A current RSA and RSG
  • A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to work outside standard nine-to-five hours

Experience with Keno, TAB, motel reservations or accommodation management systems would be highly regarded but is not essential for the right person.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary of $70,000–$80,000 per year
  • Discounted rent in deluxe onsite accommodation
  • A varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same
  • A supportive and experienced hospitality team
  • The opportunity to take ownership of stock control and customer service
  • Career development across bar, bistro, bottle shop, gaming and accommodation operations
  • A relaxed country lifestyle in a friendly Queensland community

If you are an experienced pub professional who loves great customer service, accurate stock control and leading from the front, we would love to hear from you.

Australian residents and applicants holding a current Australian working visa are welcome to apply.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Housing provided
  • Visa sponsorship
