The Role

ABOUT THE VENUE

Cazalys is Cairns' largest community club, proudly serving the Far North Queensland community for over 40 years. Located at Mulgrave Road, Westcourt, we offer a 300-seat family-friendly restaurant (Barassis), a sports bar, gaming lounge, function rooms, and children's entertainment - open seven days a week. As a multi-award-winning Queensland licensed club and part of the Cazalys Group, we operate multiple venues across the region and are committed to delivering exceptional hospitality to our members and guests.



AVAILABILITY REQUIRED

Must be available to work days, nights, and weekends.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and support restaurant staff during service periods.
  • Assist with staff training, coaching, and development.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure team members are performing their duties effectively.
  • Promote a positive and professional work environment.
  • Deliver and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
  • Ensure guests have a positive dining experience.
  • Open and close the restaurant in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor service standards and ensure compliance with venue policies.
  • Coordinate reservations, seating arrangements, and table management.
  • Ensure dining areas remain clean, organised, and presentable at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining efficient restaurant operations during peak service periods.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum one year of experience in a restaurant supervisory role.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
  • Professional presentation and a positive attitude.
