Job Description


Are you a passionate hospitality professional who thrives on delivering exceptional guest experiences? We are looking for an energetic and hands-on Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager to support the day to day operations of Boulevard Brasserie & Bar at Novotel and ibis Sydney Olympic Park. In this role, you will work closely with the Restaurant & Bar Manager to lead a high-performing Food & Beverage team, ensuring outstanding service, a welcoming dining atmosphere, and memorable guest experiences. You will be responsible for coordinating restaurant operations, developing and inspiring team members, driving revenue opportunities, maintaining high standards of food safety and compliance, and ensuring smooth collaboration across departments including Kitchen, Front Office, Sales & Marketing, and Conference & Events. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys building strong teams, and has a strong understanding of food, beverage, and restaurant operations within a busy hotel environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the daily operation of the Restaurant & Bar, ensuring exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire the Food & Beverage team to deliver memorable dining experiences.
  • Maintain a strong focus on menu knowledge, dietary requirements, allergens, and beverage recommendations.
  • Drive sales and revenue through upselling, promotions, and exceptional guest engagement.
  • Manage stock ordering, inventory control, stocktakes, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, performance development, and team engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with RSA requirements, food safety standards, WHS regulations, and hotel policies.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, including VIPs and regular loyalty members, while handling enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
  • Support the successful delivery of conferences, functions, and special events in collaboration with internal departments.

Qualifications


What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 2 years' leadership experience within a Food & Beverage outlet, hotel environment preferred.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, and beverage service.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience with stock control and inventory management
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Micros POS systems is advantageous.
  • Full Australian working rights.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and major event days.
  • Passion for hospitality, exceptional guest service, and continuous improvement.
