Full job description

Criniti’s Karrinyup is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team at our busy restaurant located at Karrinyup Shopping Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, supervising staff, maintaining service standards, supporting business performance and ensuring customers enjoy a professional, welcoming and high-quality dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organise, direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth service, efficient workflows and high customer satisfaction.
  • Plan menus and service offerings in consultation with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure quality, consistency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and organise special functions, events, group bookings and promotional activities to support restaurant visibility and revenue.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate restaurant staff, including assisting with hiring, scheduling, performance monitoring and ensuring adherence to workplace standards.
  • Select, train and supervise waiting and kitchen staff to maintain efficient restaurant operations and high service standards.
  • Manage the purchasing, pricing, stock control and ordering of food, beverages and other supplies in accordance with budget requirements and operational needs.
  • Maintain records of stock levels, supplier orders, staff rosters, customer feedback, financial transactions and operational performance.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, profit margins, sales performance and preparation of operational or financial reports.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers and relevant stakeholders to secure quality products at competitive prices.
  • Ensure dining facilities comply with health, safety and hygiene regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, liquor licensing obligations, workplace health and safety requirements and relevant industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, customer service standards and business strategies to improve customer experience and maximise profitability.
  • Confer with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service, handle customer service matters and address complaints professionally.
  • Take reservations, greet guests and assist with customer orders during busy service periods where required.
  • Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure timely service, quality control and a consistent customer experience.
  • Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, presentation and ambience of the restaurant premises.

Skills and Experience Required

The successful applicant must have:

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Café Manager, Venue Manager, or similar hospitality management role.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, customer service, staff supervision, food and beverage service, stock control and cost management.
  • Ability to lead, train and motivate front-of-house and kitchen staff in a busy hospitality environment.
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and liquor licensing requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high service standards during busy periods.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Qualification Requirement

A relevant Bachelor in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management or a related field is preferred. Applicants with substantial relevant restaurant management experience may also be considered.

Salary: $85,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
