Experienced Café Cook

We are looking for an experienced Café Cook to join our team.

We are seeking a passionate and capable cook who can confidently handle a busy brunch service, maintain high presentation standards, and contribute to a creative café environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a café or restaurant kitchen
  • Experience preparing Australian breakfast and brunch dishes
  • Strong understanding of Western-style plating and presentation
  • Ability to work with fusion-style menu concepts
  • Confident with food preparation, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
  • Experience preparing simple desserts and baked items is highly regarded
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure during busy service periods
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Weekend availability is essential

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items
  • Execute dishes consistently to presentation standards
  • Assist in developing and refining menu items
  • Prepare ingredients and complete daily mise en place
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and wastage
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation
  • Assist with simple dessert preparation and plating
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff during service

  • Eggs, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and brunch dishes
  • Western-style food presentation and plating
