About the Venue

Located in the heart of Southbank, Asado is a premium Argentinian-inspired grill restaurant renowned for its wood-fired cooking, vibrant atmosphere and exceptional hospitality. Our kitchen is fast-paced, professional and team-focused, with a strong emphasis on quality, cleanliness and supporting the development of our people.

About the Role

We are currently seeking two Casual Kitchen Hands to join the team at Asado.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. You'll play an important role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently throughout service.

Successful candidates can expect to work approximately 18–24 hours per week, primarily across evening shifts.

Preferred Availability

We are particularly interested in candidates who are available:

  • Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
  • Saturday lunch shifts (approximately 10:00am – 5:00pm)
Most shifts will finish around midnight (5:00pm – 12:00am), so applicants must be able to arrange their own transport home after late finishes.

Description:
Responsibilities

As a Kitchen Hand at Asado, your duties will include:
  • Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen, dishwashing and food preparation areas
  • Operating commercial dishwashing equipment and ensuring kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly
  • Assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required
  • Receiving, rotating and storing stock in accordance with food safety requirements
  • Completing cleaning schedules and maintaining high hygiene standards throughout the venue
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
  • Assisting with rubbish removal, recycling and end-of-night cleaning duties
Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, Steward or in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Availability to work approximately 18–24 hours per week, primarily evening shifts
  • Availability across Sunday to Wednesday evenings and Saturday lunch shifts preferred
  • The ability to organise your own transport following late-night finishes (typically around midnight)
  • Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to assist wherever required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Full working rights in Australia
