Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused RHWIS Data Officer to support the effective administration of the Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong data management, workforce administration, HR systems and reporting skills to contribute to a program that supports rural health workforce attraction and retention across the District.
About the Role:
The RHWIS Data Officer is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy and quality of Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme data across multiple systems. You will provide high-quality data analysis, reporting and investigative support to ensure accurate incentive payments, effective scheme administration and informed workforce and operational decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager, Workforce Systems and Transactions, Manager RHWIS & Rural Talent Acquisition, People and Culture teams, HealthShare and the Ministry of Health to support RHWIS policy compliance, reporting requirements and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will;
- Maintain and monitor RHWIS data across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity and compliance with policy and governance requirements.
- Undertake regular data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance activities.
- Identify, investigate and resolve data discrepancies, inconsistencies and anomalies.
- Extract, analyse and interpret complex workforce, recruitment and incentive data.
- Develop and maintain reports, data insights and documentation to support decision-making and reporting requirements.

About You:
You will be a proactive and analytical professional with experience working with complex data, workforce systems or payroll-related information. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret policy, procedures and industrial instruments to support accurate decision-making.
You will be confident using systems and spreadsheets to extract, validate, reconcile and report on data, while also being able to communicate clearly with a broad range of stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in data management, workforce, finance or, human resources or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with complex datasets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong computer proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and report on data to support decision-making.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
