SAP ABAP Developer Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a proficient SAP ABAP Developer with a strong focus on modern S/4HANA technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing custom applications, extensions, and services that leverage the full potential of the SAP S/4HANA platform. This role is essential for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and efficient technical solutions that meet our evolving business needs, ensuring our enterprise systems are at the cutting edge of technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, develop, test, and implement custom ABAP applications, reports, and enhancements within an S/4HANA environment.

• Fiori & OData Services: Develop and maintain SAP Fiori applications using Fiori Elements and build robust backend services using OData V4/V2 to deliver modern, intuitive user experiences.

• Modern Programming Models: Utilize the ABAP Restful Application Programming Model (RAP) and Core Data Services (CDS) to create efficient, HANA-optimized data models and services.

• System Enhancements: Implement side-by-side extensions on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to enhance standard SAP functionalities without modifying core code.

• Project Lifecycle Involvement: Actively engage and contribute throughout the project lifecycle, including solution discussions, technical design, development, and deployment phases.

• Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.

• Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for all development objects and projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency:

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.

• Proven experience developing with SAP Fiori Elements.

• Expertise in developing and implementing services using OData V4/V2.

• Strong proficiency in the Restful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and Core Data Services (CDS/HANA).

• Experience with creating Side-by-side Extensions.

• Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal, written, and documentation skills with an ability for clear articulation.

• Strong ability to collaborate effectively and work as a dedicated team player.

• Proactive attitude with the ability to actively engage and contribute in solution design and execution.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) skillsets SAP certification in ABAP on HANA or Fiori Development.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Experience with various SAP functional modules (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM).
