Your new opportunity
As an Actuarial Analyst in the State Actuary's Office, you will contribute to actuarial analysis and advice that supports key Queensland Government insurance schemes. This is an opportunity to work on complex financial and policy issues, applying technical skills to real-world outcomes that influence government decision-making and long-term liability management.
In this role, you will:
Support actuarial advice on government insurance schemes and related work
Undertake actuarial analysis to inform valuations, pricing and levy recommendations
Monitor scheme experience and contribute to policy and project work
Communicate analysis, insights and implications clearly to stakeholders
Build effective working relationships across teams and clients
Maintain and improve models, data processes and documentation
What experience you will bring:
Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a specialist team
Actuarial experience in insurance or government schemes is desirable
You must possess a degree qualification with detailed knowledge of actuarial issues, mathematics or statistics. Experience using tools relevant to actuarial and analytical work - such as Microsoft Office, Databricks, SQL, Python, R or similar applications would be highly regarded.
