Full job description

Modern Thai Restaurant, required a Chef to support the Head Chef. You will be a leader in the kitchen who will inspire the team towards culinary excellence through creativity, passion, and professionalism. This integral position will provide an opportunity for career advancement.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $70,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation depending on your skills, experience, and leadership attributes. This position is open to local Australian professionals and overseas Chefs. We can provide Visa Sponsorship for the right candidates. The candidates should have experience in wok cooking to be suitable for this job. Please note that this job required a good knowledge about Thai Cuisine and Wok experience.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

· Reporting to the Head Chef, you will lead, supervise, and motivate the kitchen team.

· Work with the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen including planning menus, production schedules, food costing analysis, budgeting, and staffing levels.

· Lead the kitchen to deliver a unique dining experience and high-end culinary offerings.

· Provide day to day direction, guidance and training to the Cooks, junior Chefs and kitchen team in cooking and presentation techniques.

· Control of stock and food quality, and inventory control and wastage control.

· Oversee food hygiene compliance, knowledge and practices, and kitchen logistics.

Skills and Experience:

· Diploma in Culinary Arts or higher, or at least 2 years of Chef experience.

· Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume kitchen leadership role.

· Sound knowledge of the Asian cuisine (preferred).

· Experience in working in upmarket restaurants will be highly regarded.

· Train and develop the next level of culinary experience and beyond.

· Personal desire to succeed and genuine desire to be the best.
