Front of House Section Waiter / Bartender – Sydney Japanese Restaurants

MKR Groups operates established Japanese dining venues across Sydney.

We are currently hiring Section Waiters and Bartenders for our venues in Manly, Balgowlah, and Cammeray.

Experience is preferred but not essential. We welcome applicants who are reliable, guest-focused, and enjoy working in a Japanese dining environment.

Locations

Manly / Balgowlah / Cammeray

Applicants will be considered for their preferred venue and assigned to one location based on availability.

Hourly Rates

Weekdays: $26.44 – $29.45
Saturday: $33.05 – $36.81
Sunday: $39.65+

Rates are aligned with the Restaurant Industry Award (Level 1–4) and vary depending on experience and classification. Weekend and public holiday penalty rates apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage your assigned section and provide friendly, attentive table service
  • Take food and drink orders, including sake and cocktails
  • Communicate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service
  • Handle payments, POS, and guest requests
  • Maintain clean and organised dining areas
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous waiter or bartender experience preferred
  • Experience in Japanese dining is an advantage
  • Professional, reliable, and guest-focused attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • NSW RSA required or willing to obtain
  • Available for 4–8 shifts per week, including evenings and weekends
