Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support Southern Positioning Augmentation Network ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) Effort
  • Support and Participate in Systems Improvements:
  • Provide Technical Maintenance to GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Reference Stations
  • Conduct Facility Maintenance as Directed

These activities are vital for ensuring the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SPAN) continues to fulfill its crucial role in delivering high precision positioning services and enabling the seamless transfer of orbits for space operations.
Qualifications and Experience needed:
Diploma of technology or higher education in one of following disciplines.
(a) radio engineering
(b) communications engineering
(c) electrical engineering
(d) electronic engineering
(e) computer science
(f) information technology; or
(g) qualifications equivalent to the above or be willing to conduct sponsored study to raise qualification standard

About you:

The Technician Satellite Operations plays a key role in the functioning of the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SPAN) and Transfer Orbits. This is multi-faceted role covering technical. logistics and maintenance tasks, which contribute to the effective functioning of the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network and its related systems.

Special Requirements:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
