This role is classified as Level 2 (annual base salary $70,286 - $91,813) under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department

The Role

With a sound understanding of the Punjabi-speaking community in Australia and its cultural sensitivities, as a producer, you will contribute to fostering audience engagement on-air and online. Prior experience in journalism or broadcasting will be highly regarded.

Candidates must have full working rights and reside in Sydney or Melbourne to be eligible applicants.

These 2 roles are being offered on a casual basis and is to be performed onsite from our studios during your assigned shifts.

About you

  • The ability to research, write, produce, translate and present audio content (including news, current affairs and community stories) in Punjabi language on radio and/or online platforms.
  • Proficiency in speaking and typing in Punjabi, as well as English. Also, you will be comfortable participating in a language assessment task as part of our interview process.
  • Demonstrated professional experience using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram would be an advantage.

The preferred candidate will be required to undertake language and journalist assessments as part of the recruitment process.
