School Crossing Supervisor – Casual – Waverley Local Government Area

In this Role, you’ll

Become a Road Safety Hero that is held in very high esteem in our communities and vital to the safety of our kids, parents, teachers and local motorists. You’ll also grow to be a much-loved familiar face around the school with a unique opportunity to touch the lives of countless families.

This is a casual position which will provide relief at sites in the Waverley Local Government Area. Shifts may fall between the school zones hours 8.00 to 9.30AM and 2.30 to 4.00PM, with a minimum of one hour shift as and when required Monday to Friday during the school term.

You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation.

About you

You're a community minded person who would like to contribute.

You’d get a kick out of making community relationships, keeping kids safe whilst earning a weekly wage for doing something you love and enjoy.

You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather.

You’ll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided. And one more thing! As you’ll be working with children on our roads, your willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we will help you through the process! If you already have a Working with Children Check, that’s fantastic as that will speed up the process.

Recruitment Timeline:
To ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process, here’s an overview of the timeline for this recruitment:

Our talent team will review all applications and be contacting shortlisted candidates by week commencing 22nd June 2026 for a quick 5 -10 mins phone interview, following panel interviews.

If successful, you will progress to pre-employment checks stage.

Applicants who successfully pass the interview may be considered for a permanent part time position, should a vacancy arise.

A Talent Pool may be created for current and future casual and permanent part time positions over the next 18-month period. If you are deemed suitable at interview and a vacancy arises, you may be contacted and asked to complete pre-employment checks.
