School Ministry Youth Worker

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • To ensure that in all areas of the School community the Christian foundation of the School is
acknowledged and upheld, the Anglican mission of the School is advanced, and the Christian vision
and values of the School are embraced.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


The main responsibilities of the School Ministry Youth Workers are:

  • Encouraging student involvement in the voluntary Christian groups (Cru, Year Group Bible Studies,
Weekend Retreats, Inter-School Cru Days, Faith Week, Year 12 Breakfasts).
  • Reporting to the Senior Chaplain who has oversight for Cru and responsibility for mentoring the
Chaplaincy team.
  • Teach Christian Studies, and where suitable teach another subject. Reporting to the Head of
Department for Christian Studies and other KLA.
  • Exercising a role in the pastoral care of students (involvement in a House group) one Assembly each
week. Chapel involvement might involve leading and speaking.
  • The possibility of assisting the Senior Chaplain with Chapel services, which may include leading and
speaking at Chapels.
  • Meeting individually with students who are seeking to grow spiritually; working with the Cru captains
and assisting in the development of Cru leaders.
  • Involvement in activities and camps
  • Coaching 1 season of sport – or its equivalent in another co-curricular activity.
