Full time Chef

PoppiTino… your Penrith Italian restaurant, located in the New Cadden’s Corner precinct. You will feel like you have stumbled your way into the hills of Florence. We are currently looking for a qualified Full Time Chef to join our team. Joining PoppiTino TEAM means being part of a challenging and exciting work environment. You will

be expected to maintain and improve company standards in every aspect.

This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week).

Position Responsibilities and Tasks

.Create and design menus/ new recipes that showcase Italian cuisine, considering factors such as customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients .

· Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes, such as pasta, pizza, antipasti, and seafood using traditional and modern methods, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to recipes.

· Oversee and manage kitchen operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and coordination of workflow.

· Train staff in the preparation, cooking and handling of food.

· Monitor and maintain food quality throughout the cooking process, consistently delivering dishes hat meet or exceed standards.

· Select and source fresh, high-quality ingredients, maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensuring inventory is well-stocked.

· Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, implementing best practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

· Manage food costs by controlling portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing the use of ingredients.

· Collaborate with restaurant management to develop marketing strategies and promotions.

· Stay updated on culinary trends, experimenting with new techniques and flavours to introduce innovative and appealing dishes.

· Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment, promptly addressing any issues to prevent disruptions in operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Relevant Qualifications

.Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

· A minimum of 2- 3 years' experience in a similar role.

· Proficiency in various cooking techniques, including knife skills, food preparation, and cooking methods across different cuisines.

· Creative, and passionate about food and providing high standards of food service.

· Collaborating effectively with other kitchen staff, communicating clearly, and contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

· Bring a can-do attitude to work every day.

· Respect your colleagues and guests.

· Work as a team and help your colleagues.

· Build a sense of family, friendship and belonging with your team.

What we offer:

· Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 + Super
