This role offers hybrid work flexibility, with the ability to work from home 2 days per week.

A Snapshot of Your Day
You will perform the duties required to progress Wind Farm Projects through the complete cycle of regulatory processes related to Grid Connection required anywhere in APAC region. You are expected to work in conjunction with other SE Wind Power technical support team members and the technical departments of the parent company, to ensure a successful connection to the grid of the different windfarm projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Lead grid connection activities for wind power projects across APAC, supporting the full project lifecycle from Connection Application and Registration through commissioning and R2 model validation.
  • Coordinate and review power system studies, including load flow, dynamic and transient stability, grid performance, and power quality assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance on grid connection requirements during project development, construction, commissioning, and operational phases, ensuring compliance with applicable grid codes and regulatory standards.
  • Lead or support technical discussions and negotiations with AEMO, network service providers, system operators, and customers regarding grid connection, Generator Performance Standards (GPS), and modelling requirements.
  • Act as the primary technical interface for customers and key stakeholders, providing expert advice, presenting technical solutions, and supporting project delivery.
  • Collaborate with global engineering and modelling teams to ensure alignment with company standards, manage technical requests, and support successful project outcomes.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or a related discipline, with more than 7 years of experience in renewable energy grid connection, ideally with a strong focus on utility-scale wind projects
  • Support grid connection activities for renewable energy projects across the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate power system studies and review technical outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain wind farm electrical models using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare grid connection applications and technical reports.
  • Participate in discussions with customers, network operators, and regulatory authorities.
  • Support GPS negotiations, commissioning activities, and compliance testing.
  • Review and assess grid integration solutions, including energy storage and reactive power systems.
  • Work closely with global engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.

SE Wind Power is a specialist power systems engineering team supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects across APAC. From feasibility studies and grid connection applications to commissioning, model validation, and compliance, the team delivers end-to-end technical expertise to support successful grid integration.
Based in Melbourne, Australia, the team works closely with customers, network operators, and global engineering teams to connect wind, solar, and battery storage projects to power networks across the region. Their expertise spans power system studies, grid connection, GPS negotiations, modelling, commissioning, and compliance
Our Areas of Expertise
  • Connection Application and Registration Studies
  • Dynamic and Transient modelling in PSSE, PSCAD and Powerfactory for solar, wind, battery storage and dynamic reactive plants (i.e. STATCOM, SynCon)
  • Preparing GPS Compliance test plans
  • Commissioning and GPS Hold testing
  • R2 tests, followed by model validation.
