We're looking for an experienced Food and Beverage Attendant with a great work ethic, passion, and strong knowledge in all areas of hospitality! Ollie’s Italian is an established restaurant in Cairns City, with a focus on quality ingredients, delicious flavours, and beautifully presented food and beverages. Our style is modern Italian, highlighting local ingredients and showcasing the very best of what’s available.

In This Position You Will:

  • Have 1-2+ years’ experience managing a section within a busy restaurant setting
  • Set and arrange tables based on bookings
  • Carry three or more plates confidently
  • Confidently carry a tray of drinks
  • Welcome customers and present them with menus and beverage lists
  • Attend to customers efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Take orders using Lightspeed POS, including noting special requests for the kitchen and bar
  • Run and serve both food and beverages accurately to the correct table and guest
  • Open and serve bottles of wine at the table
  • Ensure guests have an exceptional experience throughout their visit
  • Clear tables and return dishes and cutlery to the kitchen after guest departure
  • Remove empty bottles and used glasses from tables; refill and replace as needed
  • Collect payments for sales and operate point-of-sale machines and cash registers
  • Recommend wines or cocktails to complement meals
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures, including processing till receipts, banking, and reconciling transactions as directed by Supervisors or Managers
  • Report directly to the Supervisor and Manager
  • Prepare all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while adhering to RSA guidelines
  • Process orders and collect payments using the POS system, EFTPOS machine, and cash till
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including regular upkeep of FOH areas
  • Make a variety of coffees with latte art, including cappuccinos, flat whites, and other espresso-based beverages

Experience & Availability Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2+ years’ Food and Beverage Attendant experience
  • Certificate II in Hospitality or equivalent experience
  • Valid RSA Certificate
  • Experience in a 7-day a la carte operation offering both lunch and dinner service
  • Team-focused, solutions-driven, and passionate about the hospitality industry
  • Available to work full-time, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

$71,500 to $80,000
