About Rawlinna

Rawlinna is located 400km east of Kalgoorlie, WA, on the western side of the Nullarbor (a remote location). Rawlinna is known as Australia's largest operational sheep station and spans more than 1,000,000 hectares. The station is stocked with merino sheep and shearing is carried out annually.

What You'll Do:

  • Participate in all pre-start meetings and safety toolbox talks
  • Carry out sheep husbandry duties, including mustering, drafting and handling, while using low-stress livestock handling techniques.
  • Ride two-wheel motorbikes for mustering.
  • Operate motor vehicles and machinery (manual vehicles) and complete prestart checks.
  • Maintain fences and carry out general repairs.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance and repairs including changing tyres checking oil and cleaning vehicles.
  • Monitor stock watering points and maintain water facilities and pipelines.
  • Perform general station maintenance.

What You Need:

  • A genuine interest in working and living on a very remote sheep station.
  • Be prepared to work and live in a team environment
  • Being able to confidently ride a two wheel motorbike is essential
  • Skills in sheep handling and mustering (or a willingness to learn).
  • A current and valid driver's license (manual) and motorbike license (optional).

Physical Demands: This job is physically demanding and includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments. You will be expected to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push, and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push, and pull from 5-10-20 kilos and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend and descend ladders.
