Full job description

At Siemens, we create technology that transforms the everyday, for everyone. Australia may contribute around 1% of global emissions, but we know that every action matters. That’s why we empower our customers to do more with less: using less energy, reducing emissions, and building industries that shape a cleaner, smarter, and fairer future.

By combining the real and digital worlds, we help our customers transform their industries and markets and in turn, make a positive impact on the everyday lives of billions of people. Innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity are at the heart of what we do.

We're looking for motivated graduate engineers with fresh insights and a growth mindset to join our team in February 2027. To be eligible, you’ll need to hold Australian or New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship.

This pathway best suits graduates from:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Software & Electronics Engineering

About the Program

Build real expertise, not just broad exposure

Instead of short-term rotations, you’ll join a team where you can go deep; building strong relationships, developing technical expertise and seeing the real impact of your work over time. Our 2-year program is designed to build more than just technical skills. You’ll develop confidence, commercial thinking, and the ability to influence all while working on projects that impact local and global communities.

Our 2027 Opportunities

Electrical Engineering (Melbourne & Perth)

  • Contribute to the future of energy infrastructure using innovative technologies like SIPROTEC and SICAM, collaborating with diverse teams to solve meaningful challenges in protection and automation systems while developing expertise in client relationships and commercial strategy.
  • Work with customers and technical experts to solve complex challenges, developing deep capability in protection and automation systems that keep communities safe.
  • Build trusted partnerships as a technical problem-solver for customers and field teams, applying your software and IT skills to provide remote support, understand complex challenges, and guide solutions for building security systems while discovering opportunities to enhance customer experiences and support business growth.

Sales Engineering (Brisbane & Melbourne)

  • Connect technical innovation with strategic business impact by collaborating with Account Managers to nurture exciting opportunities from first conversation to successful partnership, developing your influence through authentic customer relationships and advanced tools like Salesforce and AI.

Software & Electronics Engineering (Yatala)

  • Develop intelligent systems, automation, and digital innovations that transform industries, creating hardware and building firmware for breakthrough devices that solve real challenges and create new possibilities across diverse sectors.

Why You’ll Love Being Part of Our Team

  • Enjoy 36 hours each year for learning and development
  • Join us as a permanent team member from day one, with a comprehensive 2-year development program designed to accelerate your growth
  • Opportunity to work 2–3 days from home each week with our hybrid work model
  • Paid volunteering leave to give back to causes that matter to you
  • Family-first culture including up to 16 weeks paid parental leave
  • Take part in events, celebrations, and team-building activities to make connections and build your network

About You

You don't need to know everything yet, that's what our program is for. We’re seeking grads who are curious, innovative and have a growth mindset. You’re comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and are passionate about making a difference.

To be eligible for our 2027 program, you'll need to:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have Australian permanent residency at the time of application
  • Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the past 3 years (i.e., 2024, 2025, or 2026) or be due to complete your degree by the end of January 2027
  • Be able to commence full-time employment in February 2027

Building a Workplace for Everyone

We strive to provide a safe working environment for each member of our diverse team and commit to continuously develop our ways of working on this journey.
