Full job description

Support Near Me is seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Austral, NSW. This role involves supporting participants with daily living activities, personal care, community access, and implementing positive behaviour support strategies within a person-centred environment. About the Role As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting participants to live independently, achieve their goals, and actively engage in their community while maintaining their dignity, choice, and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities • Providing assistance with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting. • Supporting participants with daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks, medication assistance, and maintaining a safe living environment. • Facilitating community access, recreational activities, appointments, and social participation. • Implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) and following support strategies. • Managing and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern. • Maintaining accurate progress notes, incident reports, and relevant documentation. • Promoting participant choice, independence, dignity, and inclusion. • Working collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and support coordinators. Essential Requirements • Minimum 1 year experience working in Disability Support, Supported Independent Living (SIL), or a similar support environment. • Demonstrated experience providing personal care support. • Experience supporting participants with complex support needs and challenging behaviours. • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred practices. • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check. • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC). • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate. • Current Australian Driver Licence. • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance. • Strong verbal and written English communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, sleepovers, and public holidays where required.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $36.00 – $40.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
