GIS Analyst – Perth CBD – Fixed Term 12 Month Contract
Join Western Power and help shape the quality, governance and strategic use of data across one of Western Australia's most critical infrastructure networks. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of data analysis, data governance, spatial information, and stakeholder engagement, supporting better business decisions through trusted, fit-for-purpose data and insights.
Your Role in Action
Deliver analytical and insight services that support informed decision-making across Western Power, using data to identify opportunities for improvement and business value.
Support and enhance Enterprise Data Management and Data Governance Frameworks, ensuring the quality, integrity and effective use of business data.
Partner with stakeholders to understand business data requirements, investigate challenges, and develop practical data-driven solutions.
Provide technical analysis, GIS and spatial expertise to support projects, operational initiatives, and enterprise data programs.
Monitor and improve data management processes and standards to ensure information remains trusted, accessible and fit for purpose.
Support the delivery of Western Power's Enterprise Data Strategy through data quality improvements, governance initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Deliver regular reporting and communicate complex data concepts in a clear and meaningful way to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to a portfolio of data-related projects, helping drive prioritisation, resource allocation and business outcomes.
Act as a key contact for business data and mapping requests, identifying opportunities to improve processes and enable greater self-service capability.
Build strong relationships across the business while supporting effective change management and adoption of data governance practices.
What Makes You a Great Fit
A qualification in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Business-related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Previous experience in Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental or Heritage practice.
Qualifications in Geographic Information Science, Project Management or Business-related studies.
Strong experience in data analysis, data management, GIS or spatial information services within a complex operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop practical solutions using GIS and database tools.
Experience supporting or implementing data governance, data quality, and information management practices.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and communicate technical information effectively.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work across multiple projects and deliver outcomes within required timeframes.
Strong understanding of change management principles and a commitment to continuous improvement.
