Full job description

We're a proudly Australian retailer with a simple mission: help everyday families get great quality for less. Our Support Office team brings that mission to life behind the scenes, and we're looking for someone who wants to do work that actually means something — not just for a brand, but for real Australian families.

The role

We're looking for a Social Media Content Specialist to join our growing social media team, reporting to the Social Media & Digital Content Manager.

This is a creative, hands-on role where you'll bring the Best & Less brand to life across every major social platform — from Instagram and TikTok to Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn. You'll be making content that stops the scroll, tells a story, and drives real results for real customers.

No two days will look the same. One day you're on set capturing social-first video at a campaign shoot, the next you're deep in analytics figuring out why one hook outperformed another. It's fast — but it's never alone.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating high-quality, platform-native content — video, image, and copy — across organic and paid social channels to grow Best&Less channels, and drive online & in-store traffic.
  • Attending campaign and in-house shoots to capture and produce social-first videos & brand (So.Much.Better) content.
  • Editing content for each platform with the right hook, format, and message every time
  • Collaborating with Campaign Specialists to ideate and produce dedicated campaign and always-on content for paid ads
  • Planning category focuses, thematic executions, and content-led stories — briefing and reverting with the internal design team
  • Tracking and analysing social performance (reach, engagement, sales) and feeding insights into weekly trade reports
  • Staying across platform algorithm changes, trends, and best practices to keep our social presence sharp
  • Bringing fresh thinking to Monthly Alignment Meeting to keep making the programme So.Much.Better

What you'll bring

  • 2–3 years in social media content creation, ideally within fashion or consumer retail
  • Strong video and image editing skills — CapCut, Adobe Suite, Canva or similar
  • A genuine understanding of what makes content land on each platform — not just repurposed, but platform-first
  • Sharp copywriting skills and an eye for a great hook
  • Analytical mindset — you can interpret data and turn it into content decisions
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach — you share the wins, you share the learnings
  • A driver's licence is handy (for getting to shoots), and retail or fashion experience is a bonus, not a must

Why work for us

  • A supportive, collaborative team environment — we work hard and have fun doing it
  • The opportunity to work with an iconic Australian value-focused retail brand
  • Generous staff discounts
  • Access to Sonder Employee Assistance Program
  • Career growth opportunities in a dynamic, people-focused retail environment

At Best & Less, we are all about making it easy for Australian families to look and feel their best at great value prices. We are proud of our products and prices, but we know that our magic is in our people and our culture. We value and nurture great talent, believe in promoting from within, and we celebrate success with enthusiasm. Our culture is grounded in our TEAM&i values: Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, Make it Happen, and Integrity. They guide the way we work, create, and show up for each other.

Ready to apply?

If you're someone who lives and breathes social, can move fast without cutting corners, and wants to work on a brand that's genuinely going places — we'd love to hear from you.

Best & Less is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members.
