Your Role as a Graduate-Software Developer

As a Graduate – Software Developer you will gain hands-on experience supporting the development of innovative software solutions that enable Orica’s global operations.

You’ll work alongside experienced developers, learning how technology supports business performance while building your coding, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. You’ll develop your technical capability while gaining exposure to real projects and modern development practices.

Based in our Welshpool office, this role runs Monday to Friday with a hybrid working model, including two days working from home, giving you the flexibility to learn, collaborate, and shape your future.

What you will be doing

Develop and support software applications aligned to business needs;
Collaborate with senior developers on projects and technical solutions;
Participate in code reviews and improve code quality through feedback;
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance from the team;
Support testing activities to ensure performance and quality of systems;
Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across projects.
What you will bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field completed or due for completion in 2026;
Foundational programming knowledge in languages such as C#, Python, Java, or C++;
Understanding of software development principles and best practices;
Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git) is advantageous;
Internship, academic, or personal coding project experience is highly regarded.

This role will be based at our Welshpool Office in Perth, WA, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside industry experts in a collaborative and innovative environment.
