The Opportunity

As a full-time, permanent Solicitor in our Rockhampton -based Personal Injury team , you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and make a real difference for those who have been wronged.

While experience in personal injury law across any jurisdiction is preferred, it’s not essential. We’re open to mentoring an enthusiastic and capable solicitor who has a solid understanding of the rules of evidence, demonstrates empathy and professionalism, and is passionate about helping vulnerable individuals achieve justice.

Relocation assistance will be considered for non-local applicants.

• Provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients seeking compensation.
• Manage a variety of personal injury matters with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
• Deliver clear, tailored legal advice that aligns with each client’s level of understanding.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients through regular, transparent communication and effective expectation management.
• Prepare and review legal documentation with precision and attention to detail.
• Manage your own file load efficiently, demonstrating strong organisational and commercial awareness.
• Contribute positively to the team environment and provide support to junior colleagues where appropriate.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll:

• A Bachelor of Laws with a current practising certificate.
• Pre- or post-admission experience in personal injury law (e.g. workers’ compensation and/or transport accident matters, or similar).
• Have a passion for social justice and a thirst for knowledge in the plaintiff law space.
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Be dedicated to delivering exceptional client service, with an emphasis on helping people when they need it most.
• Be able to effectively manage multiple competing deadlines, within a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in Shine’s areas of practice.
• Bring diversity of experience, and evidence of extra-curricular activities aligned with Shine’s work, such as volunteering or community work.
• Be an active member of relevant association/s will be favourably considered, as will paid and non-paid work experience in the legal field.
